Several members, future members, and alumni of Carnegie Mellon Quiz Bowl recently made the trip to Atlanta, Georgia, to play and staff NAQT’s High School National Championship Tournament.

CMU takes out the trash at COTTAGE Bowl 2

Greg Cortazzo, Aakash Patel, Steven Silverman, and Rajeev Vishwamitra went to Maryland to play the COTTAGE Bowl 2 trash set, placing fifth out of ten teams at the site and becoming rapidly frustrated at how many questions there were about memes.

Allderdice wins 2016 Tartan Invitational

February 20, 2016
The first edition of the Tartan Invitational since 2008 saw Taylor Allderdice take home top honors, winning a one-game final with Pittsburgh Central Catholic. South Side was the top small school. Jordan from Allderdice, Eli from DuBois, and Senia from South Side were the top individuals. Best of luck to all teams at the various national tournaments!

CMU attends NAQT Sectionals

February 6, 2016
Two CMU teams traveled to the NAQT Great Lakes Sectional Championship Tournament at Youngstown State University. CMU A tied for fifth (and third among undergraduate teams) in division I, while CMU B took fourth in division II, narrowly missing qualifying for ICT.

CMU places 10th and 15th at ACF Regionals

Two CMU teams traveled to ACF Regionals at the University of Virginia, placing 10th and 15th out of 23 teams. CMU A placed sixth among undergraduate teams.
